On Tuesday, Lautner, best known for his role as Jacob Black in ‘Twilight’, shared a post from the official NFL Instagram account on his own story. The post highlighted Kelce’s romantic proposal to Swift and included two snapshots: one of the couple’s dreamy engagement setting and another of them smiling on the football field earlier this year, after Kelce’s team, the Kansas City Chiefs, won the AFC Championship.
The caption read: “I can’t believe this is happening.” The NFL cheekily added “same” to seal the emotion.
Fans instantly noticed Lautner’s repost. Many saw it as a classy move, especially given his past with Swift. The two dated briefly in 2009, when she was 20 and he was just 18. While their romance didn’t last, Lautner has often spoken kindly about her.

In December 2023, during an appearance on Alex Cooper’s ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcast, Taylor Lautner reflected on his bond with Taylor Swift.
“I think when you respect somebody for who they are in their soul, it allows you to move on, forgive and continue that love in a different way,” he said. He explained that even after the breakup, they managed to keep things friendly. “We were so young … but we stayed friendly, we would see each other now and then,” he added.
Meanwhile, Swift and Kelce themselves made their engagement public with a joint Instagram post on Tuesday. The announcement quickly turned into one of the biggest moments on social media, crossing millions of likes in a matter of hours.
The couple, who confirmed their relationship in 2023, has not yet revealed when the wedding will take place.
