DC Studios just dropped a sizzling Super Bowl trailer for ‘Supergirl’, and fans are buzzing! Milly Alcock steps into the iconic red-and-blue cape promising a story that’s bigger, darker, way more interstellar than anything we’ve seen before.

The trailer/teaser gives a sneak peek into Kara Zor-El’s early life on Krypton showing the planet’s beauty before its tragic destruction.

Fans also got their first glimpse of Krypto, her loyal super-powered dog, and the action-packed battles that follow her shocking entrance at the end of James Gunn’s ‘Superman.’

A grittier heroine

Unlike her cousin, Superman, who always sees the best in people, Supergirl takes a sharper view of the world. Her line in the trailer, ”He sees the good in everyone. And I see the truth,” hints at a more cynical, no-nonsense heroine ready to fight dark forces wherever they appear.

The film’s official logline teases a high-stakes story: ”When an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely companion on an epic, interstellar journey of vengeance and justice.”

Supergirl cast: Meet the villains and allies

Mischief and mayhem are on the horizon! Matthias Schoenaerts plays the villainous Krem of the Yellow Hills, a galactic baddie on a deadly mission.

Eve Ridley joins as Ruthye Marye Knoll, a young girl who ropes Supergirl into her quest for justice after Krem murders her father.

Fans will also see David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham as Supergirl’s parents, while Jason Momoa makes a show-stopping cameo as the alien mercenary Lobo.

The screenplay comes from Ana Nogueira, and Craig Gillespie directs this cosmic adventure. DC Studios heads Peter Safran and James Gunn produce, with executive producers Nigel Gostelow, Chantal Nong Vo, and Lars P. Winther rounding out the team.

Supergirl release date

Mark your calendars: ‘Supergirl’ flies into theaters on June 26, 2026. This summer, Kara Zor-El is ready to take the spotlight, and trust us, you do not want to miss it.
