Court renotifies the case
The Delhi High Court has renotified the high-profile civil suit concerning the RK Family Trust. The matter, which saw a brief hearing recently, is now slated for a detailed session on January 28.
The court noted that issues are complex and will require extended deliberation before any decision is made.
The allegations: A trust in auestion
Rani Kapur has claimed that the RK Family Trust which holds a stake in the automotive components giant Sona Comstar was created and operated without her knowledge or consent.
Essentially, she alleges that she was cut out of assets that were rightfully hers. The trust, she says, was executed at a time when she was recovering from a stroke and relying on her son, Sunjay Kapur, to manage her personal and financial matters.
According to the suit, her late son may have been manipulated or unwittingly involved in the creation of this trust.
Rani Kapur claims she was repeatedly assured that her estate was secure, but she later discovered transactions that allegedly stripped her of ownership rights.
Documents, blank papers, alleged deception
The senior Kapur has accused Priya Kapur and other defendants of deliberately concealing truth about trust. She alleges she was asked to sign multiple documents and she didn’t know of their content or legal consequences.
In some instances, she claims, she was even made to sign blank papers.
