The world of ‘Baahubali’ is about to expand but not in the way fans might be expecting. With the re-release of ‘Baahubali: The Epic’, director SS Rajamouli has finally addressed all the buzzing rumours about ‘Baahubali 3’ and extra scenes in the film.

In a recent interview alongside stars Prabhas and Rana Daggubati, Rajamouli revealed some exciting news. “We are releasing the teaser for ‘Baahubali: The Eternal War’,” he said.

SS Rajamouli clarified that contrary to speculations, this is not ‘Baahubali 3’. Instead, it’s a full-length animated film set in the ‘Baahubali’ universe.

“We previously launched a 2D animated show on Amazon. This will be a 3D animation, exploring the same beloved characters but taking them on a new journey,” Rajamouli explained.

Fans also wondered if the epic version of the combined films would feature new scenes. Rajamouli set the record straight. “People are talking about extra scenes, but the only addition is a small dialogue scene dubbed by Nasser sir, intercut with his existing dialogues,” he said putting rumours to rest.

The animated project, he added, is the result of years of planning. Producer Shobu has been keen to expand the ‘Baahubali’ universe beyond what everyone imagined.

“He met a young animation director, Ishan Shukla, who had a fresh idea to take the story forward in a different direction. I really liked it. The team has been working on it for about two and a half years, and the budget is now around Rs 120 crore,” Rajamouli revealed.

Prabhas, who has always been enthusiastic about the franchise, couldn’t hide his excitement. “It’s already a hit if you loved the films! Rs 120 crore is huge. It’s almost the same as the budget of the first ‘Baahubali’ film,” he said.

The star added that seeing the world of ‘Baahubali’ brought to life in 3D animation is a dream come true for fans and creators alike.

Meanwhile, ‘Baahubali: The Epic’ is not entirely new but a re-edited version of the two-part saga, combining ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ and ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ into one seamless cinematic experience.

The star-studded cast includes Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Sathyaraj, and Nasser. The film is going to hit theatres worldwide on October 31 with international premieres starting October 29.

For now while ‘Baahubali 3’ remains a distant dream, the animated journey is a bold step forward.
