Kangana Ranaut starrer Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi was in news recently after the exit of actor Sonu Sood from the film. It is now learnt that actor Swati Semwal has also decided to walk out of the film.

Swati was supposed to play the role of Parvati, wife of Maratha Army commander-in-chief Sadhashivrao Bhau, that character Sonu Sood was playing earlier. Sadhashivrao Bhau will be played by Zeeshan Ayyub now.

Swati Semwal, who was last seen in Fanney Khan and Bareilly Ki Barfi, has also worked in some television series.

Speaking on her exit from the film, the actor told IANS: “I have quit the project. Earlier also I was not sure, I was in two minds, but a few days back, my team had a meeting and we decided to quit the project because I don’t think so at this point of time, this project is good for the career path that I am taking,”

“After the meeting, I realised that it was not so significant anymore. It was not what we signed for when I signed the film, so we decided to part ways,” she added.

While Sonu left the movie owing to his professional commitment towards “Simmba”, Kangana claimed he quit as he “refused to work under a woman director”.

Directed by Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi, the film also stars Danny Denzongpa, Ankita Lokhande and Atul Kulkarni.
