Seth Rogen and Jon Stewart took sharp aim at Kanye West aka Ye during a comedy event in Los Angeles, where both comedians openly criticised his recent actions and public statements. The moment came during the “Seth Goes Greek” show at the Netflix Is a Joke festival, held at the Greek Theater, where Rogen first set the tone for the night.

Rogen jokes about ‘Heil Hitler’ song and comedy double standards

Seth Rogen used his set to comment on Kanye West’s controversial track titled “Heil Hitler” and his surprise appearance during Dave Chappelle’s set earlier in the festival.

Rogen pointed out what he saw as a strange imbalance in public reactions, saying he himself had faced heavy backlash for critical jokes about Jewish people, even though he does not have major music success like West.

He also made a dark joke, imagining what Adolf Hitler might think of West’s song with that title.

Jon Stewart criticises West’s Hitler comments and public behaviour

Later in the show, Jon Stewart joined Rogen on stage along with several other comedians and strongly backed his criticism.

Stewart directly attacked West’s repeated references to Adolf Hitler, especially comments suggesting Hitler was a “misunderstood” person and deserved forgiveness. Stewart said he did not think he needed to take moral advice from someone who holds such views, especially while still expressing anger over personal disputes involving Pete Davidson, who previously dated West’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian.

Controversies, bans, and ongoing backlash around Kanye West

Kanye West has faced major fallout in recent years over repeated antisemitic remarks and behaviour. He previously faced ban from the platform X after posting swastikas and also lost his website after he used it to sell swastika-themed merchandise.

His international performance career has also seen its days, with bans in several countries. In the United Kingdom, the Wireless Festival was cancelled after his visa was reportedly rejected.
