Sanju: Ranbir Kapoor takes us back to Sanjay Dutt’s 1993 arrest in new poster

The makers of Sanju are back again with another poster, featuring Ranbir Kapoor portraying a Sanjay Dutt in handcuffs in 1993.

The latest poster of the upcoming film features a long-haired and bearded Ranbir, which dates back to the time of Dutt’s 1993 arrest after the 1993 bombings in Mumbai.

The poster showcases one of the most bad phases of the actor’s career as Dutt was arrested.

Director Rajkumar Hirani shared the official poster on his social media handle and wrote: “Sanju was first arrested in 1993. In prison for 18 months. Could not get bail. A recreation of that time. #RanbirKapoor #RajkumarHiraniFilms @VVCFilms @foxstarhindi”

From the looks of the poster, Ranbir’s uncanny avatar is definitely going to click with the fans as back in the day Dutt’s imprisonment shocked the entire film industry and fans, all praying for his release.

The makers of the film are leaving no stone unturned and are showing every facet of Dutt’s life in the best way possible with the posters.

Sanju, based on the life of actor Sanjay Dutt, will narrate the journey of the actor from his youth to the present. The film’s teaser has received rave reviews with Ranbir’s portrayal of Dutt being adjudged as the best.

Presented by the iconic duo of Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who have worked with Dutt in films like Munna Bhai series and PK; Sanju, is all set to hit the big screen across the globe on June 29.
