As Mohit Suri’s upcoming musical romance, Saiyaara, produced by Yash Raj Films, gears up for its theatrical release tomorrow, signs of the film’s future success are showing results. The film has crossed over ₹4 crore in advance box office bookings.

This romance stars Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, marking their Bollywood debuts for both young actors. Padda was also previously seen in the Amazon Prime video drama “Big Girls Don’t Cry.”

The film, directed by Mohit Suri, known for hits such as Aashiqui 2 and Awarapan, among others, is adding to the craze surrounding the movie. According to Sacnilk, a box office tracker website, the film has achieved approximately ₹4.37 crore in advance bookings.

Based on the trailer, the film follows Krish Kapoor, a rising singer navigating his way to fame, and Vaani, his lyricist. With a breathtaking soundtrack and melodious songs, Saiyaara seems all set to break our hearts — and perhaps the box office charts.

Speaking about the movie with Cyrus Broacha on his podcast, Suri opened up, saying: “It’s not always related to your talent, or how well you did the shot. It’s just what the director is looking for that day. I can say this today, I didn’t really care much about Ahaan’s audition. But there was something about the guy that seemed interesting. So I said, ‘Let’s go out for dinner.’ So, he takes me to this formal place, and he’s really behaving himself…”

“I get him a couple of drinks down, and then he’s taken me to some place in South Bombay with all these kids. And then I see the real Ahaan Panday. He’s standing on the bar, dancing. And I’m like, ‘This is the guy I want for my film.’ That’s the audition that got him selected,” he went on to say.

Speaking about the casting process in general, Suri reflected:

“It’s not always related to your talent or how well you did the shot. It’s just what the director is looking for that day.”
