Tannishtha Chatterjee’s debut directorial Roam Rome Mein which was selected for official screening at the Busan International Film Festival has won the Asia Star Award.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui made the announcement on his official Instagram handle.
He wrote, “The wonderful thought is now a beautiful film #RoamRomeMein in @Busanfilmfest Congratulations @tannishtha_c & Team Winning the #AsiaStarAward at the prestigious #BIFF2019 for #RoamRomeMein.”
Siddiqui also shared the team’s photograph from the festival along with the official poster of the film.
Actor Adil Hussain who was present at the screening of the world premiere of the film in Busan praised the film.
In a post that he put out on Twitter, he complimented Tannishtha for making a milestone film on gender equality. He also shared a picture with the actor-director and the film’s team.
“It’s been a long time that I watched a film which made me Sob, Uplifted and reflective at the same time so Gently. @TannishthaC your Debut Film #RoamRomeMein is a milestone of a film on #genderequity and everyman and woman. @busanfilmfest Bravo Dear Tannishtha,” he wrote.
Tannishtha thanked the veteran actor and wrote back, “Ohhhhh… am speechless… first to have u see #roamromemein at its world premiere… n then such kind words !!!’ Thank you so so much . Big hug.”
Apart from Tannishtha Chatterjee and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Roam Rome Mein also features Valentina Corti, Vineet Kumar Singh, Andrea Scarduzio, Ciera Foster and Priyansh Jora in supporting roles.
Produced by Eros International and Rising Star Entertainment, Roam Rome Mein will be released in Hindi, English, and Italian.
