Rishab Rikhiram Sharma’s latest instrumental piece ‘The Burning Ghat’ is making waves, not just with audiences, but with some of the biggest names in the entertainment world.
Released on July 4, the soul-stirring track has quickly resonated far beyond the banks of the Ganga where it was filmed.
In just 72 hours, the piece racked up over one million views on YouTube, a remarkable feat for a purely instrumental track.
‘The Burning Ghat’ is a meditative tribute to the eternal flame of Varanasi’s Manikarnika Ghat, one of India’s most sacred cremation grounds. It is a place synonymous with endings, and yet, Rishab transforms it into a starting point for inner peace.
The release hasn’t gone unnoticed in the celebrity circuit either. Oscar-winning producer Guneet Monga was among the first to boost the track, sharing the video on Instagram stories with warm encouragement.

Filmmaker Karan Johar also shared the piece, calling it “so lovely” and adding heart emojis.
Apoorva Mehta, CEO of Dharma Productions, also showed his support, tagging Rishab and simply applauding the artistry.
Tamannaah Bhatia chimed in as well, adding her voice to the growing crowd of admirers, while Shikhar Pahariya took to Instagram stories to say “Too good bhai,” pairing it with a heart emoji.
But this attention is not sudden. Rishab has been steadily building his space in India’s evolving music scene. A disciple of the late Pt. Ravi Shankar and the youngest representative of the Rikhiram lineage, he fuses Indian classical tradition with a fresh, emotional storytelling style that connects easily with younger listeners.
Tracks like ‘Chanakya’ and ‘Tandavam’ have already built him a loyal fanbase. ‘The Burning Ghat’, however, marks a deeper turn, both visually and sonically. It’s his first instrumental release following the ‘Sitar for Mental Health’ India tour.
