After Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone returned from London following a three-month schedule wrap-up of Kabir Khan’s sports drama ’83, the film is to begin its three-week shoot in Mumbai from Tuesday.

On September 1, Kabir Khan wrapped up the sports drama’s schedule in which Ranveer Singh essays the role of Kapil Dev and Deepika Padukone plays his on-screen wife, Romi Dev.

The last and final leg of the film’s schedule is still left to be completed.

The three-week schedule will go on till the first week of October beginning September 10.

“We will be shooting off and on with the entire team. During this schedule, we will be filming some of the interiors that no longer exist in London and have built sets for the same. The cricketing portions were completed in London. This will be the final schedule with the actors after which we will only be shooting what was happening around the country during World Cup,” Kabir Khan said in an interaction with Mumbai Mirror.

’83 will follow the story of the Indian cricket team under the captaincy of Kapil Dev, and their maiden victory against West Indies in the 1983 Prudential Cup final.

The film has an ensemble cast, likes of which include Pankaj Tripathi, Ammy Virk, Harrdy Sandhu, and Tahir Raj Bhasin among many others.

Produced by Reliance Entertainment and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the film is slated to release on 10 April 2020.
