Alia Bhatt’s acclaimed film Raazi has concluded its first week on a remarkable note by collecting Rs 56.59 crore at the box office in India.

So far, 2018 has been a great year for Bollywood at the box office as many films have emerged out as a success story and ruled the box office in their dream runs.

From Padmaavat to Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety to Raid and now Raazi, this year has been undeniably the year of content prevailing over almost everything.

Raazi, which is based on the bestselling novel Calling Sehmat, has been winning hearts ever since its release and fans are completely awestruck by the show stealer, Alia’s, performance in the lead role, which they are referring to as her career-best performance.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed the film’s business on his social media handles. Raazi has concluded its first week on May 17 by earning Rs 5.35 crore thus taking the total collection of the film to Rs 56.59 crore.

Owing to its strong word of mouth, Raazi‘s box office figures are not only impressive but also shows that the film remained consistent in the first week as it never dropped below the mark of Rs 5 crore on any single day.

Apparently, Adarsh also revealed that how the film’s business is a success story as Raazi has already covered its budget out of which 90% was covered without non-theatrical sales. Raazi‘s collections are hugely profitable as the film is also having a decent run in the overseas market, where it has earned Rs 18.08 crore in the first week.

One other thing noticeable about this Alia-starrer is the fact that despite the intense competition from Hollywood’s juggernaut Avengers: Infinity War and Amitabh Bachchan’s 102 Not Out, Raazi managed to stay strong at the box office and performed consistently to score good box office numbers.

Directed by Meghna Gulzar, Raazi, also starring Vicky Kaushal, Rajit Kapur, Soni Razadan and Jaideep Ahlawat in pivotal roles, was released worldwide on May 11.
