Singer Peter Andre banned his children from using social media after being bullied as a child left him scarred.

The father of four says the biggest issue facing children these days is mental health and warns cyber bullying is adding to problems, reports mirror.co.uk.

The London-born star said he was left psychologically damaged by being bullied as a youngster when his family moved to Australia.

He revealed: “The bullying I went through wasn’t like someone calling you names. I was beaten up pretty bad.”

He is father to Junior, 12, and Princess, 10, with ex Katie Price and Amelia, 3, and Theo, 11 months, with wife Emily MacDonagh.

He said: “I don’t let Princess or Junior go on social media or things like that yet. I am very strict, I don’t allow it in the house at all.

“I worry about cyber bullying – all these things kids are going through, worrying about what they look like, worrying about what someone is saying about them.

“I couldn’t talk to my parents about my bullying because I never had that kind of relationship and I didn’t want to worry them. But if there was a number I could call to get my problems sorted it would have helped me because I got scarred.”

Now that his older children are becoming more independent, Andre admitted, he “worries about everything”.

He said: “I say to the kids, ‘Guys please, I want you to know you can talk to me about anything, anything bothering you I will never judge you, I’m just here to hear you. I worry sick all the time.”
