From cheating allegations to a police complaint, Palash Muchhal is suddenly at the centre of a storm that mixes showbiz dreams, big money, and unanswered questions.
Palash Muchhal has landed in the news again, this time for a fraud allegation. According to news agency PTI, a man has approached the police in Maharashtra’s Sangli district accusing Palash of cheating him of ₹40 lakh.
The complaint has sparked fresh discussion especially because it comes soon after Palash’s called-off wedding made headlines across the country.
Allegations of fraud against Palash Muchhal
Police officials said a 34-year-old actor and producer named Vidnyan Mane, a resident of Sangli, submitted an application seeking the registration of an FIR against Palash.
Vidnyan approached the Sangli Superintendent of Police earlier this week. As of now, the police have started preliminary inquiry into the matter.
According to this complaint, Vidnyan met Palash in Sangli on December 5, 2023. Vidnyan reportedly shared his interest in investing in film production. Palash allegedly told him that he could come on board as producer for upcoming project titled ‘Nazaria’.
The complaint claims Palash promised attractive returns. Vidnyan was allegedly told that an investment of ₹25 lakh could earn him a profit of ₹12 lakh once the film was released on OTT platforms. Adding more excitement to the deal, Palash reportedly also offered Vidnyan a role in the film.
As per the police complaint, the two met twice after their first interaction. Between those meetings and March 2025, Vidnyan allegedly paid a total of ₹40 lakh to Palash.
However, the project was never completed. When Vidnyan asked for his money back, he reportedly received no response. Left with no option, he approached the police.
Police officials confirmed that a preliminary probe is underway. Palash Muchhal has not yet issued any statement on the fraud allegations.
Why Palash was already in the news
The fraud complaint comes barely a month after Palash’s wedding with Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana was called off. The couple was supposed to get married on November 23.
However, the wedding was postponed after Smriti’s father, Shriniwas Mandhana, was hospitalised due to a heart ailment. Later, Smriti confirmed that the relationship had ended. Buzz around the mill suggests cheating allegations against the composer.
