After the successful opening of Pad Man at the box office, the film is also getting critically acclaimed. The R Balki directorial that stars Akshay Kumar as the protagonist has definitely impressed the audience too.
Reportedly, the Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte, and Sonam Kapoor starrer might get its Tamil remake. And another talented actor Dhanush is supposedly roped in for the lead role.
Pad Man is based on a real-life story of Arunachalam Muruganantham, a resident of Coimbatore, who went out of his way to solve the issue of availing menstruating women with sanitary pads. He single-handedly built a machine to produces sanitary napkins for the women who cannot afford to buy them. Twinkle Khanna, who is also the producer of the film, wrote a book on his story titled ‘The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad’, which was then adapted as a film.
However, no other details have been disclosed yet about the Tamil remake of the same. On the work front, Dhanush is about to make his Hollywood debut with The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir.
