The timing of Neha’s break comes shortly after the release of her latest single, ‘Candy Shop’, which she created with her brother Tony Kakkar. Released on December 15, 2025, the song went viral amassing over 23 million views on YouTube.

But attention was not all positive.

Critics and fans flooded social media with sharp opinions. While some listeners dismissed the track as substandard, others slammed it for “vulgar” lyrics and cringe-worthy dance moves.

There were even claims that ‘Candy Shop’ borrowed heavily from K-pop aesthetics. Though Tony composed, wrote, and produced the song, Neha’s voice was front and center, and she bore the brunt of the online criticism.
