#MeToo: Dia Mirza, Farhan Akhtar speak on Sajid Khan’s sexual harassment allegations

Since Tanushree Dutta accused Nana Patekar of sexual harassment on the sets of Horn OK Pleasss in 2008, many women have come up and shared their #MeToo stories.

Now filmmaker Sajid Khan has been called out by three women for sexual harassment. On Friday he tweeted that he is stepping down till the time he can allay the allegations and prove the truth.

Reactions are pouring in regarding the entire issue from Bollywood celebrities. Actors Dia Mirza, Farhan Akhtar, Sandhya Mridul and Mallika Dua are supporting the movement.

Over the years, Dia Mirza has been supporting many causes, especially environmental, and now is supporting the #MeToo movement.

She shared journalist Karishma Upadhyay’s tweet about suffering sexual abuse from Khan. Showing the support she wrote, “I am so sorry you had to go through this @karishmau. With you in support. #MeToo”


Farhan Akhtar says he is shocked to read accounts by multiple women who faced sexual misconduct by his cousin and director Sajid Khan.

He wrote, “I cannot adequately stress how shocked, disappointed and heartbroken I am to read the stories about Sajid’s behaviour. I don’t know how but he will have to find a way to atone for his alleged actions.”


Mallika Dua shared journalist Karishma Upadhyay’s tweet and wrote, “YUCK”.


Sandhya Mridul wrote, “What? Sajid’s behavior a shock? One of the film industry’s not so well kept secrets.”


TV actress Sanya Irani took to her Instagram story and wrote, “This needs to happen #MeToo, #timeisup”

Sona Mohapatra wrote, “The disease that we need to get rid off. #SajidKhan been spreading the virus for too long. #TimesUp”


Actor Rachel White, assistant director Saloni Chopra and journalist Karishma Upadhyay have shared their story of sexual harassment at the hands of Sajid Khan.
