For weeks, Marvel fans have believed that the first trailer for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ would premiere in theatres before Avatar: Fire and Ash, arriving on December 19. But now, a new rumour is shaking things up, and if it turns out to be true, the trailer might drop much earlier than anyone imagined.
A surprise Sunday release?
Industry insider Alex Perez from The Cosmic Circus has hinted that the long-awaited trailer could arrive this Sunday, December 7, at 7 pm ET. Several other online scoopers are also backing this claim which has sent Marvel fans into a frenzy.

This timing is unusual. Marvel rarely launches big trailers on a Sunday night especially when many international audiences might be asleep. But the rumor comes with an interesting twist that makes it sound strangely believable.
The Fantastic Four clue
Fans have noticed something odd on social media. For weeks, the official Fantastic Four page has been sharing the same clip; a scene from ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ where Reed Richards talks about how the superhero team never misses their Sunday dinner at 7 pm.

The strange part? The movie has finished its theatrical run already. It’s out on Digital, Blu-ray, and Disney+, yet the clip keeps appearing on X (formerly Twitter) every Sunday, at exactly 7 pm.
This has led many fans to wonder if Marvel is teasing something.
Doctor Doom’s connection makes the theory stronger
There’s a deeper reason why this odd Sunday ritual has caught everyone’s attention.
In ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’, the post-credits scene shows Doctor Doom with baby Franklin Richards, a moment that directly connects the villain to Marvel’s next big saga.
Doom is likely to play a major role in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ that makes him one of the most important characters in the upcoming film.
No official word from marvel yet
As of now, Marvel Studios and Disney have not confirmed any release date for the trailer. Other reports, including one from Collider, still insist that the trailer will debut with ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ in theatres.
So at this point, fans are left to wait and watch, literally, on Sunday evening.
‘Avengers: Doomsday’ release date
‘Avengers: Doomsday’ will hit theatres on December 18, 2026. The movie is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the same team behind ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’.
The screenplay has been written by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely, two of the most trusted writers in the Marvel universe.
