A group of masked thieves made off with a huge haul of trendy Labubu dolls worth around $25,000. The robbery happened early Wednesday morning at One Stop Sales, a toy store located in La Puente, a city just outside Los Angeles.

Surveillance footage posted by the store on Instagram shows the moment the thieves struck. Dressed in hoodies and with their faces covered, the group broke into the store, grabbed box after box of the popular plush toys, and left the place in a mess.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the suspects used a stolen Toyota Tacoma truck to pull off the heist. They later found the vehicle, but the thieves are still on the run.

At first, the shop owners thought they had lost about $7,000 worth of merchandise. But after taking a closer look at their inventory, they realized the damage was much worse. $25,000 gone in one night!

So what’s the big deal with these dolls?

Labubu dolls, created by artist Kasing Lung from Hong Kong, are more than just cute toys. Over the last ten years, they’ve become a serious collector’s item. With their wide eyes, pointy teeth, and quirky charm, Labubus have taken social media by storm. Celebrities, influencers, and fans around the world can’t seem to get enough of them.

Each doll comes in a “blind box,” so buyers don’t know which version they’re getting until they open it. There are over 300 styles to collect, and while most boxes sell for around $30, rare versions can go for hundreds, even up to $500, on resale sites.

One Stop Sales shared their heartbreak in an Instagram post. They said that the thieves not only stole their entire Labubu collection but also left the store in shambles. “We are still in shock,” the post read, with the shop asking the community to help catch those responsible.
