Most people walk into a Coldplay concert hoping to leave with good memories, maybe a phone full of videos, and a sore throat from singing along. But for Kristin Cabot and Andy Byron, one night of music turned into a viral storm that changed their lives completely.

Cabot, who once worked as chief people officer at the software company Astronomer, has now filed for divorce. According to court papers obtained by NBC News, she submitted her petition in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, on August 13.

The legal process is still underway, with the next hearing scheduled for November 26.

The drama traces back to July 16, when Cabot and Byron, then Astronomer’s CEO, were spotted in the crowd at Coldplay’s Foxboro, Massachusetts, show. Their faces suddenly appeared on the big screen as the dreaded ‘kiss cam’ zoomed in.

Instead of leaning in for a playful moment, Kristin Cabot hid her face while Byron ducked awkwardly out of frame.

The crowd chuckled, but things escalated when Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin playfully teased that the pair might be having an “affair.” The clip quickly spread online, and what started as a harmless joke turned into a full-blown internet investigation.

Strangers began combing through their personal lives, drawing unwanted attention to both Cabot and Byron’s families.

Within days, the fallout hit their professional lives too. On July 19, Astronomer announced Byron’s resignation. Not long after, Cabot also stepped down from her position. The company, in the media spotlight, acknowledged the controversy even though it had nothing to do with their work in data and AI.

Since then, neither Cabot nor Byron has spoken publicly about their relationship or the viral moment that upended both their careers.
