What began as a love story between Bhojpuri actor Pawan Singh and his wife Jyoti Singh has now turned into one of the most talked-about public disputes in the Bhojpuri film industry.

On one side stands Jyoti Singh; hurt, angry, and determined to speak her truth. And on the other is Pawan Singh; a popular actor defending himself before fans and the media, calling the accusations false.

On October 8, Jyoti Singh faced the media with trembling emotions but firm words. In her press conference, she revealed painful details of her marriage, accusing Pawan of giving her abortion pills and mentally torturing her.

“He says he always wanted a child,” Jyoti began, “but a man who truly wants a child doesn’t give his wife medicines to end a pregnancy.”

According to Jyoti, the situation became unbearable when she tried to stand up for herself. “When I spoke against him, he tortured me so much that one night I took 25 sleeping pills at 2 am I just wanted the pain to stop,” she confessed.

Jyoti said she was rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Mumbai by Pawan’s brother and members of his team. “I survived that night,” she said quietly, “but after that, I realised silence only helps the wrongdoer.”

Her claims didn’t stop there. She further alleged that Pawan Singh “used to give me abortion pills” every time she became pregnant, leaving her both physically and emotionally drained. “I am not defaming Pawan,” she said, “I am only telling what I went through.”

Just hours after Jyoti’s shocking statements, Pawan Singh held his own press conference, trying to present his side of the story. Defensive, he said, “Whatever happened between Jyoti and me is known only to God, her, and me.”

He claimed that Jyoti came to meet him in Lucknow recently and that the meeting happened in a respectful manner. “When my brother told me Jyoti was coming, I didn’t refuse. She came with her brother and sister. We talked for about one and a half hours,” he said.

Pawan alleged that Jyoti’s demands were political in nature. “She wanted me to get her an election ticket,” he stated. “That is beyond my control.”

He also addressed rumours that he had called the police during their meeting. “That is false,” he said. “The police were already present from the morning for security reasons. I did not call them.”

Trying to appeal to his fans, Pawan added, “For me, the public is God. I will never do anything that hurts the sentiments of those who love me. People have given me everything I have today.”

The couple’s relationship troubles have been ongoing for months, with court cases filed in different cities. Jyoti has reportedly filed a maintenance case in Ballia, while Pawan has filed for divorce in Arrah.
