Delhi is gearing up for one of the most colorful celebrations of language and culture. Yes, Jashn-e-Rekhta is returning in December 2025!
Hailed as as the world’s largest Urdu literary festival, this three-day extravaganza is ready to bring poetry, music, and art to life for Urdu lovers from all over.
This year, the festival promises an exciting lineup of performances of new as well as veteran artists. On 5th December, the powerful voice of Sukhwinder Singh will take center stage. If you are a Sukhwinder fan, you can expect his signature aalaps and songs that have won hearts.
The next day, 6th December, will feature the dynamic duo Salim-Sulaiman at 5:00 PM. This is likely to treat visitors to their signature blend of contemporary music, fused with traditional melodies.
One of the festival’s highlights comes on 7th December at the Mehfil Khana stage, where a tribute to the legendary poet Sahir Ludhianvi will unfold. The performance brings together stalwarts Javed Akhtar, Shankar Mahadevan, and Pratibha Singh Baghel.
Beyond music, Jashn-e-Rekhta is a celebration of the Urdu language in so many ways. Every year, the festival showcases Urdu poetry, literature, Qawwali, Sufi music, Islamic calligraphy, and much more. Visitors can attend recitations, panel discussions, debates, and conversations on films.
Food lovers and shoppers are also in for a treat. The festival includes vibrant food stalls and shopping areas.
