Raj Kundra is gearing up for something new, his big Punjabi film debut in ‘Mehar’, and ahead of the film’s release, co-star Geeta Basra has nothing but high praise for him.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Geeta spoke openly about what it was like working with Raj on the film and how impressed she was by his dedication. She revealed that Raj had truly given his all, both emotionally and physically, to bring the character of Karamjeet Singh to life.
“You have quite literally given your blood and sweat for this role,” Geeta wrote. “The dedication you showed to play Karam I swear is commendable. And believe me, it will pay off!”
She went on to say something that might surprise many: “The world will see a Raj that very few probably knew existed!” Geeta added that this project marks what she considers Raj’s ‘real’ acting debut, even though he’s known more widely for his business ventures and public life.

“Welcome to the movies ‘officially’! Thank you for being the best co-star,” she added.
On July 27, Raj Kundra also gave fans a glimpse into his character with the first look poster of ‘Mehar’. In his social media post, he described the experience of playing Karamjeet Singh as “transformative” and said the role helped him reconnect with Sikh values and his own roots.
“It’s a journey I’ll never forget,” he wrote.
Directed by Rakesh Mehta, ‘Mehar’ comes with a strong supporting cast that includes Master Agamveer Singh, Baninder Bunny, Savita Bhatti, Rupinder Rupi, Deep Mandeep, Ashish Duggal, Hobby Dhaliwal, Tarsem Paul, and Kulvir Sony.
The film comes in presentation of DB Digitainment and Raghu Khanna, and production of Divvya Bhatnagar and Raghu Khanna. Ashudeep Sharma has handled the cinematography.
Ready to release in theatres on September 5, 2025, ‘Mehar’ is already generating buzz, not just for its storyline, but also because audiences are curious to see a completely new side of Raj Kundra.
This is not just a one-time acting gig either. Raj has two more Punjabi films in the works, both still untitled. According to reports, those projects will see him exploring different genres including action, comedy, and drama.
For Geeta Basra, ‘Mehar’ is a return to the big screen after a break.
