“Choli Ke Peeche did it first… so why the outrage now?” that’s the question lighting up the internet after a fresh song dropped and chaos followed.

The storm began with “Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke”, a track from the upcoming Kannada film ‘KD: The Devil’. And right at the center of it all? A fiery defence from filmmaker Prem’s wife, former actor Rakshitha.

A song drops… and sparks fly

The moment “Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke” hit the internet, it grabbed attention for all the wrong reasons. It got slammed.

Viewers and critics called out the lyrics as vulgar and inappropriate. Social media quickly turned into a battlefield, with many questioning why such content is still being created.

But while outrage grew louder, Rakshitha stepped in, and she didn’t hold back.

Rakshitha hits back: “One song doesn’t define him”

In a detailed and emotional response, Rakshitha defended her husband, director Prem, and his creative choices.

She made one thing clear: judging an entire filmmaker based on one song is unfair.

According to her, a single track cannot define Prem’s credibility as a writer or director. She pointed out that ups and downs at the box office are normal and should not be used to dismiss someone’s talent or hard work.

Rakshitha also addressed the tone of criticism online. She agreed that audiences absolutely have the right to question creative decisions. But she drew a firm line at personal attacks.

In her words, asking “why” is valid. But abusing someone? Not acceptable.

She brought up iconic Bollywood songs like “Choli Ke Peeche” and “Dreamum Wakeupum”, tracks that were also considered bold or provocative when they released.

According to her, the film industry has always had suggestive songs. From lyrics to visuals, nothing about this trend is new. She even pointed out that many films openly depict violence and sexual themes today without facing such intense backlash.

So why is one song suddenly such a big deal?

She admitted she’s not justifying everything, but she clearly believes the reaction is disproportionate.
