Television child actor Veer Sharma and his elder brother, Shaurya Sharma, lost their lives after a fire broke out in their home in Kota during the early hours of Sunday.
Veer Sharma was loved by television audiences for his roles in ‘Shrimad Ramayan’ and ‘Veer Hanuman’. His performances as a child actor had already earned him recognition.
According to reports, the blaze began inside the drawing room of their flat in the Deepshree building. At the time, both Veer and Shaurya were sleeping and alone in the house.
The fire did not spread to other rooms. But the thick smoke filled the flat, leaving the brothers trapped. Police believe the cause may have been a short circuit, though investigations are still ongoing.

Neighbours noticed smoke rising from the apartment and quickly tried to help. They broke down the door and rushed inside, pulling the boys out and taking them to a nearby hospital. The doctors declared them dead on arrival. Officials confirmed that the boys died of suffocation due to smoke inhalation.
Their father, Jitendra Sharma, who teaches at a coaching centre in Kota, was away at a bhajan programme when the tragedy struck. Their mother, Rita Sharma, an actress, was in Mumbai for work. The news reached the parents soon after, and Rita rushed back to Kota.
SP Tejeshwani Goutam informed the media that the drawing room was completely burnt while other parts of the flat had burn marks. The charred remains of furniture and appliances pointed towards a sudden fire outbreak. But only a detailed forensic examination will confirm the actual cause.
The family decided to donate the eyes of both boys to an eye bank. Their mortal remains were later handed over to the family after the formalities. Police have also registered an FIR under section 194 of the BNSS Act and are carrying out further inquiries.
