The award-winning film ‘Chalo Jeete Hain’ is all ready to return to cinema halls and schools across the country. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has announced that the film will be screened nationwide from September 17 to October 2.
This short film, which won the National Award for Best Non-Feature Film on Family Values in 2018, is a heartfelt tribute to Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy: “Only those truly live who live for others.”
The film will release in nearly 500 theatres across India, including popular chains like PVR Inox, Cinepolis, Rajhans and Miraj. In addition, lakhs of schoolchildren will watch the movie as part of this special drive.
To mark this re-release, a campaign titled “Chalo Jeete Hain: Seva Ka Sanman” has launched. As part of it, schools will honour their “Silent Heroes”, the watchmen, cleaning staff, drivers, peons and other workers who keep everything running smoothly but often go unnoticed.

The film reportedly draws inspiration from a real incident from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s childhood. It follows the story of young “Naru”, a boy who becomes deeply moved by Swami Vivekananda’s teachings. He begins to ask himself what it really means to live for others, and tries to put that philosophy into practice in his small world.
Producer Mahaveer Jain, speaking about the initiative, said, “This movement carries a powerful message. It will inspire millions of young minds to value and respect every kind of work and every individual. It reminds us of the timeless values of selflessness, empathy and duty to the nation. Through this film, we hope to ignite a spark in the youth. And, encourage them to live with purpose and contribute positively to society.”
The film is a directorial of Mangesh Hadawale and presentation of Aanand L. Rai and Mahaveer Jain.
