Grammy Award-winning electronic duo The Chainsmokers will return to India this December. The tour spans three cities. It marks their first visit since 2023.
Tour dates and cities
The duo, Drew Taggart and Alex Pall, will perform in Mumbai on December 18. They move to Delhi on December 19. The tour wraps in Bengaluru on December 20.
Sunburn Festival headline slot
The Mumbai show carries extra weight. The Chainsmokers will headline Sunburn Festival 2026 at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse. This marks the festival’s first show at the venue. Sunburn is one of India’s largest electronic music events.
What Sunburn’s CEO said
Sunburn CEO Karan Singh said few artists can instantly transport people back to a specific phase of their lives the way The Chainsmokers can. He added that for Indian millennials and Gen Z, the duo’s songs became part of core youth culture moments over the past decade.
Singh also pointed to the emotional excitement fans feel about seeing the duo live again, especially now, when nostalgia and shared cultural experiences are driving fan communities worldwide.
A decade of hits
This year marks 10 years since the release of “Closer,” one of the duo’s biggest global hits. The Chainsmokers formed in 2012. They started out remixing songs by independent artists.
Their breakthrough came in 2014 with “#Selfie.” The track became a top-20 single in several countries. Since then, the duo’s catalogue has sold more than 118 million records worldwide.
Three of their singles have gone Diamond certified: “Closer,” “Something Just Like This” and the Grammy-winning “Don’t Let Me Down.” The duo has also won two American Music Awards, seven Billboard Music Awards and nine iHeartRadio Music Awards.
New music since their last India visit
The Chainsmokers have stayed busy since their 2023 India shows. They released the EP “No Hard Feelings” in 2024, followed by “Breathe” in 2025. Earlier this year, they put out “Love is Kind,” a collaborative EP with singer-songwriter Oaks, also known as Winona Oak.
