Captain Marvel make-up artist to change Kangana Ranaut’s look to Jayalalithaa for biopic

Kangana Ranaut is working on Jayalalithaa’s biopic titled Thalaivi which will trace the journey of her life, from her early years to her chief ministership of Tamil Nadu which lasted 14 years.

The 32-year-old will be seen in four different looks in Thalaivi , which is being helmed by AL Vijay.

In a recent update on the biopic, producer Vishnu Induri announced in a press statement that Hollywood make-up artists of Captain Marvel, Blade Runner and Hunger Games fame will work on Kangana to make her look like Jayalalithaa.

They will be working on four looks spanning different ages of the veteran leader.

“Kangana has four looks spanning different ages in the film and we need good amount of pre-production for that. We have roped in Hollywood make-up artists( Jason Collins) for Kangana’s makeover.” Hindustan Times quoted Induri.

Vishnu also shared the update on social media. On his official Twitter account, he wrote, “#ThalaiviUpdate: Kangana has four looks spanning different ages in the film and we have roped in Hollywood Make up artist Jason Collins for Kangana’s makeover. #Thalaivi #KanganaRanaut.”

Earlier, the production news about the film’s budget had many in doubt, if it were ever to go on floors. However, producer Induri clarified that, “It is very disheartening to see baseless rumours being spread without verifying. The pre-production of #Thalaivi is in full swing and the team is in Mysore for the recce and as planned earlier the shoot will start post Diwali.”

Thalaivi will release in three languages- Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. While it’s Hindi part was to named Jaya, Kangana requested the makers to keep it as Thalaivi for all languages, reported HT.

Actor Arvind Swami will essay the role of legendary actor and former Tamil Nadu CM MGR in the biopic.
