Army it’s happening! On Sunday, BigHit officially confirmed the release of BTS’s fifth studio album alongside the announcement of an upcoming world tour, marking the global supergroup’s first full-group return in three years and nine months.
In a statement, marking their first collective album since 2002, the agency described the upcoming record as a deeply meaningful milestone for the group as well as fans. “The new album holds special significance as it marks the first album released by the group in three years. and nine months, while also indicating the direction the group will take going forward.”
A heartfelt album for ARMY
The agency further stated, “Featuring 14 tracks, the album is packed with honest stories that BTS wants to share with ARMY, who have been waiting for their comeback as a whole group. Filled with the music that’s most true to BTS, the album is their heartfelt way of saying thank you to ARMY, who have been there this whole time.”
World tour to follow album release
Following the album’s release, BTS will reunite on the global stage with a long awaited world tour. The full tour schedule will be out separately on January 14 at 12 am. The tour is likely to start a fresh chapter in the group’s journey, once again reconnecting with audiences worldwide.

From K-pop group to global phenomenon
Formed in 2013, BTS consists of members – RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook. They have evolved and enlarged from a South Korean hip-hop group into one of the most influential cultural forces in contemporary pop music.
In 2017, came their global breakthrough with the tracks such as ‘DNA’ and ‘Mic Drop’ which marked them into an international sensation.
They had six songs top the Billboard Hot 100 in the consequent years, fully marking them as one of the most successful K-pop acts of all time.
Life after ‘Proof’ and military service
Shortly before the bandmates took an extended hiatus to fulfil their military service in the Republic of Korea Armed Forces, a requirement of all men in the country, their album, Proof, released in June 2022,
Since the band’s hiatus, each member has continued their solo endeavours, with all bandmates releasing at least one solo album between 2022 and 2025.
