Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has been on cloud nine after giving a blockbuster film, Padmaavat, and has now added another feather to her cap by getting a statue at Madame Tussauds.

Back in July, Deepika announced the exciting news in a Facebook Live Video that her statue would be unveiled in 2019 at Madame Tussauds in London and in New Delhi. Deepika went to the UK to be measured for her wax figure.

Deepika is featured on the September issue of Elle magazine. In conversation with Farah Khan for Elle India, she spoke at length about getting the wax statue.

She said, “For me that moment of just meeting the entire team, all those memories were just coming back of when I went to London for the first time.” Here is the video.

Deepika, at the time of her measurements for the statue, had posted the very first pictures of her statue being made. In one of the pictures, we can see samples of eyes that might end up on Deepika’s statue. She captioned it as, “It’s all about the details.”

On the work front, Deepika who made her debut in Hollywood with Vin Diesel-starrer xXx: Return of Xander Cage will return to the franchise for its fourth instalment.
