Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty has strongly denied a viral statement on caste-based reservation that has been circulating on social media in her name. Calling the claim fake, she said the statement had been falsely linked to her and urged people not to believe or share such misinformation.
Shilpa addressed the issue through her official X account, formerly known as Twitter. She made it clear that she had never made the remarks.
She wrote, “I am shocked to see fake statements on reservation falsely attached to my name. This is completely fabricated, malicious garbage. Do not fall for this fake news!”

Fake Instagram story screenshot sparks confusion
The controversy began after a screenshot, presented as an Instagram Story, started circulating widely on social media. The image claimed to show Shilpa expressing her views on caste-based reservation.
However, several social media users questioned its authenticity and said the screenshot appeared to be fake. Shilpa later confirmed those doubts by publicly denying any connection to the viral message.
What the viral post claimed
The fake post falsely attributed the following statement to the actress:
“Don’t touch reservation. Let general category doctors treat only general category patients and let everyone else treat only patients from their own caste. Do this for a few years and people will start asking to end caste-based reservation themselves. You can’t get skill through reservation.”
Shilpa has clarified that she never made or shared these remarks and described the viral content as fabricated.
