Just days after her name came up in a financial fraud case along with her husband Raj Kundra, Shilpa Shetty has now announced the shutting down of her famous Mumbai restaurant, Bastian Bandra.
Shilpa shared the news on Instagram with a heartfelt note. Calling it “the end of an era,” she wrote that the restaurant had given people “countless memories, unforgettable nights, and moments that shaped the city’s nightlife.”
She said the space would host one last special evening for its closest guests before shutting doors. The evening, she explained, would be full of nostalgia and energy, celebrating what the restaurant stood for all these years.
Even though the Bandra outlet is shutting down, Shilpa Shetty made it clear that the restaurant’s popular Thursday ritual, Arcane Affair, will continue at Bastian At The Top, another outlet from the chain.

“The legacy continues with a new chapter and new experiences,” she promised in her note.
Bastian Bandra was co-owned by Shilpa Shetty and restaurateur Ranjit Bindra. The original Bastian opened in 2016 and quickly became one of Mumbai’s most stylish and talked-about places.
The restaurant moved to Bandra and reopened in 2023.
The timing of this closure, however, has drawn attention because of the legal trouble surrounding Shilpa and her husband. Recently, Mumbai Police booked the couple after businessman Deepak Kothari accused them of cheating him of over ₹60 crore.
According to the complaint, the money was given between 2015 and 2023 as part of a loan and investment deal for their company, Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd. The businessman claimed that instead of using it for business expansion, the funds were spent on personal expenses.
The case has now been handed over to the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) for investigation. This is not the first time Raj Kundra has faced legal challenges. His name previously came up in the 2021 pornography case, which also kept Shilpa in the headlines for months.
