“Nobody expected ‘Dhurandhar’ to become such a phenomenon,” she said. “It’s been in cinemas for 46 days and has crossed Rs 1,300 crore globally. Part 2 is going to take everything you loved in the first film: action, story, drama and just give you more.”
Sara Arjun and Yalina Jamali
Sara’s character, Yalina, is more than just a love interest. She is a woman with heart and strength. The headstrong daughter of politician Jameel Jamali (played by Rakesh Bedi), Yalina falls for Indian intelligence agent Hamza Ali Mazari (Ranveer Singh) and eventually marries him but not without navigating a world full of danger, schemes, and spy drama.
“I attended workshops to understand Yalina better,” Sara revealed. “I used to discuss my character arc with Aditya Dhar. She thinks with her heart, but she’s strong, confident, and really follows her instincts. Part two shows her true strength.”
Sara admits that shaping Yalina’s personality was a collaborative effort. “We threw around ideas about who she is, how she thinks, and what she stands for. We wanted to show that she’s happy, bright, but then her journey brings pain that feels justified later. Honestly, Yalina has some similarities to me, which helped me connect with her,” she added.
