Critics are already calling it “divine”

But not everyone is impressed
As always with hype-heavy releases, the Internet split in two. Several viewers called out the teaser’s visual and conceptual choices:
Man expected more. Barring 5-6 frames which are exceptional, everything else is mid. Some shots are comparable to Adipurush. Ranbir as Rama is a Mismatch. AI usage is very clear. Won’t work in in Hollywood. Hope it turns out to be good.#Ramayana https://t.co/YwEvGvMsrJ

Utter Disappointment
I had high hopes for this movie, but after seeing the glimpse, I’m totally let down. It seems like they’re attempting to create another Adipurush all over again. Several scenes look AI-generated, and the VFX/CGI quality elsewhere is pathetic. No idea where… https://t.co/1CgMqdORJp— Deepika Sharma (@Deepika_shrma18) April 2, 2026
What the hell is this. The edit of this teaser is just ridiculous. Random shots were clipped. Not a single goosebumps or wow shot in it. CGI is poor even the vfx looks flat. No visual depth is some scenes. Didn’t like the cinematography at all. Hope they’ll fix it. JAI SHRI RAM. https://t.co/c30rTdP8Ca

Visuals that divide opinions
The teaser is undeniably ambitious, featuring scenes of cosmic battles, glowing blue skins, and larger-than-life action sequences. While some call it “a punch to the soul,” others see it as a visual mismatch, comparing it unfavourably to ‘Adipurush’.
Interestingly, the teaser also shows unexpected elements: a flying axe, a tree-flipping stunt, and snow-laden fight sequences which have left traditionalists scratching their heads. The question arises: is ‘Ramayana’ trying to modernise the epic, or simply chasing cinematic wow-factors at the cost of authenticity?
Ranbir Kapoor: Divine or miscast?
Ranbir Kapoor’s casting as Lord Ram has been polarising. Fans praise his grace and intensity, claiming he embodies divinity and strength.
Critics, however, feel that his portrayal, combined with stylised action sequences, turns the revered character into a Bollywood hero in a high-budget fantasy.
