The teaser for ‘Ramayana’ has quietly crossed an important checkpoint, and the internet is treating it like a mini festival.

Director Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious mythological drama, starring Ranbir Kapoor, has received clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The certification arrived on March 30, just two days before the teaser titled “Rama” is scheduled to premiere on April 2.

A screenshot of the certification surfaced online, revealing key details, including the rating and runtime. The teaser runs for 2 minutes and 38 seconds and has been awarded a “U” (universal) rating. That means viewers of all ages can watch the glimpse of the epic.

Reports suggest the “Rama” teaser is more like a mini-trailer. Fans can expect a fairly detailed look when it drops on Thursday.

What we’ve seen so far

Until now, the makers have kept things very controlled. Only two pieces of content have been released: a title announcement video and a 3-minute-3-second clip called “Ramayana: The Introduction.”

That introduction leaned heavily on VFX and gave viewers a dramatic first look at Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Yash as Ravana. The clip came with a caption stressing reverence and respect, saying the project is a collaboration of some of the world’s best talents and welcoming audiences to “the beginning.”

Growing curiosity around casting and scale

The technical ambition and casting choices have already sparked conversations. Industry watchers are especially curious about Ranbir Kapoor’s portrayal of Lord Rama, while the visual scale hinted in the introduction has raised expectations.

The film is scheduled to hit theatres in November 2026, aligning with the Diwali festive window.
