Veteran actress Piloo Vidyarthi recently spoke honestly about her experience working on a new film. And, let’s just say, things didn’t go quite as she expected.

Piloo had signed on for a role she believed would be very important to the film’s storyline. In fact, when she first heard the script, she felt her character carried as much emotional weight as Farida Jalal’s beloved role in ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’.

She filmed many scenes in both Manali and Mumbai, thinking the character she played would be central to a child’s emotional journey in the film.

But when the movie finally hit screens, Piloo Vidyarthi was in for a shock. Most of her scenes had been cut.

“I feel stuck in the middle. There’s no head or tail to my character,” she said in an interview with News18. She added that the editing left her role almost unrecognizable, with less than 20 percent of her work actually making it into the final film.

Naturally, she was disappointed and decided not to promote the film as a result.

“The director seemed to struggle with the storytelling,” she explained. “Something clearly went wrong in putting the film together. As actors, especially those in supporting roles, we often don’t have much control or the right to question such decisions.”

Despite the letdown, Piloo remained graceful, saying that setbacks like these are part of an actor’s journey. “It’s okay, these things happen,” she said. “But yes, it hurts when you prepare so much and your role ends up being cut down to almost nothing.”

She also spoke about her experience working with Ibrahim Ali Khan, son of Bollywood stars Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh. This film marks one of his early steps into acting. Piloo had kind words for the young actor, saying he was kind and respectful on set. “He was very nice to me, even took photos,” she said.

However, she did offer a bit of advice for Ibrahim, suggesting that he needs to bring more depth to his performance. She pointed out that being a star kid comes with its own challenges and expectations.

“There’s a lot of pressure on them,” she said. “Ibrahim comes from a family of big achievers. They’ve always been in the spotlight. No one is bad, but he needs to grow as an actor.”
