There are moments in life when one bold decision changes everything. For actress Kubbra Sait, that moment arrived in 2009 when she packed up her corporate life at Microsoft and set out for Mumbai carrying nothing but ambition, hope, and a dream.

On Saturday, the ‘Sacred Games’ and ‘Gully Boy’ star took to Instagram to relive that turning point in her life. Sharing a series of throwback pictures, Kubbra opened up about the time she decided to trade spreadsheets for scripts. Among the photos were shots from her first-ever portfolio.

“Circa 2009. Somewhere between spreadsheets and dreams, I decided to quit my job at Microsoft and move to Mumbai,” she began her heartfelt note. “Everyone said you needed a ‘portfolio’. Yes, that mythic ticket to the big city. Mine was shot by a kind photographer in Dubai, Sunith Shyam right after I’d won Miss Personality at Miss India Worldwide. I remember how proud I felt when I framed this first photo, my first real step towards a life and career I hadn’t yet lived.”

Years later, as she tried to replace that old framed photo, Kubbra found herself holding more than just a memory. “The photo had aged, the glass had stuck to it, and when I pulled it out, a part of it stayed behind. Just like memories do. Some pieces fade. Some hold on but the courage that began in that frame still remains,” she wrote.

From her breakout role as Kukoo in ‘Sacred Games’ to powerful performances in ‘Farzi’, ‘The Trial’, and ‘Gully Boy’, Kubbra Sait has built a career defined by risk-taking.

Recently she appeared in ‘The Trial’ Season 2 and made her reality TV debut with ‘Rise and Fall’. Up next, she will appear in ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’.
