Ongoing ‘Cowboy Carter’ by Beyonce tour hit an unexpected snag last week, not on stage, but in a parking garage in Atlanta.
In a bizarre turn of events, hard drives containing unreleased music from the global superstar were reportedly stolen from a rental vehicle used by her team.
According to Atlanta police, the theft happened on July 8 at a parking deck on Krog Street NE. The car, a rented Jeep Wagoneer, was being used by Beyonce’s longtime choreographer Christopher Grant and backup dancer Diandre Blue.
When they returned to the vehicle, they found that two suitcases and a backpack had vanished.
What makes the theft more concerning is what was inside those bags. Among the stolen items were two laptops and multiple hard drives loaded with sensitive material.
According to reports, the drives held watermarked audio files of unreleased tracks of Beyonce, past and future set lists, choreographed routine plans, and behind-the-scenes footage from the tour.

Police say the Atlanta Police Department’s Larceny from Auto Unit has taken over the investigation. An arrest warrant has already been issued for a suspect, though authorities have not revealed the person’s name.
It wasn’t just digital files that were lost. Christopher Grant told police that personal belongings were also taken. That included a pair of Tom Ford sunglasses, designer clothing, and a Tumi backpack.
Diandre Blue added that his MacBook Air and headphones were among the stolen items as well.
Despite the troubling incident, Beyonce successfully wrapped up the Atlanta leg of her ‘Cowboy Carter’ tour, performing her fourth and final show in the city. She is scheduled to head to Las Vegas next, with her concert there set for July 25.
As of now, there has been no official comment from Beyoncé or her representatives regarding the theft.
