Music composer AR Rahman is celebrating a proud moment in his personal life, as his daughter, Raheema, has graduated from the Glion Institute of Higher Education in Switzerland. She completed her studies in Hospitality, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation.
Rahman shared the news with fans on Saturday through his Instagram account. Posting several pictures of Raheema from her graduation ceremony, he expressed his happiness and love for his daughter in a heartfelt caption.
“My little princess, Raheema, has graduated from the Glion Institute of Higher Education with a focus on Hospitality, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation. #proud-dad #womenleaders #alhamdulillah,” he wrote.
The pictures showed Raheema in her graduation gown. Fans and well-wishers filled the comments section with congratulatory messages and blessings.
Raheema is the daughter of AR Rahman and Saira Banu. The couple, who got married in 1995, also have two other children: Khatija and Ameen.

While this is a moment of celebration for the family, it comes at a time when Rahman and Saira have also been in the news for their recent separation.
In early 2024, Rahman and Saira Banu publicly announced the end of their 29-year-long marriage. The news came through a statement issued by Saira Banu’s legal representative, Vandana Shah. The couple cited “significant emotional strain” as the reason behind their decision to part ways.
“On behalf of Mrs. Saira and her husband, renowned musician Allahrakka Rahman (A.R. Rahman), Vandana Shah and Associates issue the following statement regarding the couple’s decision to part ways,” read the official communication.
Rahman also addressed the matter personally on his X (formerly Twitter) account. He reflected on their journey together and the pain of separation. “We had hoped to reach the grand thirty, but all things, it seems, carry an unseen end. Even the throne of God might tremble at the weight of broken hearts,” he wrote. “Yet, in this shattering, we seek meaning, though the pieces may not find their place again. To our friends, thank you for your kindness and for respecting our privacy as we walk through this fragile chapter.”
