Anushka Sharma cancels ‘Pari’ screening in honour of Sridevi

The nation is in a deep shock with the sudden demise of legendary actress Sridevi. On Tuesday night her body was brought to India from Dubai and the funeral will take place on Wednesday afternoon.

Meanwhile to pay tribute to Sridevi, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma and KriArj Entertainment have cancelled the screenings of their upcoming film Pari. In the honour, Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi had already cancelled their annual Holi party. Also, Rani Mukerji had cancelled a grand song launch event for her comeback film, Hichki.

Two days before the release of her film ‘Pari’, a special screening of the film was kept for Bollywood celebrities but now has been cancelled due to Sridevi’s funeral.

Producer of the film, Prernaa Aroraa said in the statement, “We are deeply shocked and heartbroken with the untimely demise of our beloved Indian legend, Sridevi. To honour her memory and the legacy she left behind, KriArj Entertainment has decided to cancel the screening of their upcoming film, Pari, which was earlier scheduled for the 28th of February.”

The film, which also stars Parambrata Chatterjee and Ritabhari Chakraborty, has been directed by Prosit Roy. Pari is slated to hit the theatres on March 2, this year.
