Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has openly criticized the makers of the newly announced AI-generated movie, ‘Chiranjeevi Hanuman – The Eternal’. On Tuesday, he took to Instagram to express his anger, directing his words at Vijay Subramaniam, Founder and CEO of Collective Artists Network.

Anurag accused Vijay of putting profits over people, claiming that the agency, known for representing actors, writers, and directors, is now sidelining real artists in favor of AI-generated work. In his Instagram post, the filmmaker wrote that agencies like these are more focused on making money than looking after creators.

“Congratulations @vijaysubramaniam84,” Anurag wrote. “Here is the man heading @lifeatcollectiveartistsnetwork, representing artists, writers, directors, now producing a film made by AI. So much for looking after the interests of creators. At the end of the day, all these agencies are only interested in making money, and since they are not making enough from artists, they are turning to AI.”

He did not hold back, adding that any actor or artist with courage should question or leave such agencies. “He thinks you are no match for AI. This is the future for the spineless and cowardly so-called artists in the Hindi film industry. Well done, Vijay Subramaniam. Shame is not enough; you should be in the gutter,” he said.

Anurag’s comments come amid growing debate over the use of Artificial Intelligence in films. Just a few days ago, the makers of the Dhanush-starrer ‘Raanjhanaa’ re-released the movie in theatres with an AI-altered ending.

Many actors and filmmakers condemned this move, calling it an exploitation of artists and a misuse of power by producers.
