The Bhojpuri film industry has been in the spotlight after a recent incident between popular actor-singer Pawan Singh and actress Anjali Raghav. A video from a live event in Lucknow showed Pawan Singh touching Anjali on stage in a way that made her uncomfortable.
The clip went viral on social media, sparking debate among fans and viewers.
In the video, Anjali was seen wearing a golden saree and speaking to the audience. Pawan Singh, dressed in a white coat, stood next to her. While she was addressing the crowd, he placed his hand on her waist.

At first, Anjali tried to ignore it with a smile. But when he did it again, she seemed uneasy. She even refused to move her hand when Pawan asked her to. The moment ended only when he stepped back after saying “Okay.”
The clip created a storm online, with many people criticizing Pawan Singh’s behaviour. Some even called it inappropriate and said no female artist should have to face such moments on stage.
After the backlash, Anjali Raghav expressed her disappointment and said she was hurt by the incident. Her words gained support from her fans, and soon Pawan Singh responded with an apology.
Pawan wrote late Saturday night that he had not seen Anjali’s earlier statement because of his busy schedule. He said that when he came to know about the issue, he felt very bad. “I had no wrong intention towards you because we are all artists,” he wrote. “Even then, if you felt hurt by any of my actions or behaviour, I sincerely apologise for that.”
On Sunday, Anjali Raghav shared Pawan Singh’s message on her social media and gave her response. She said she accepted his apology and did not want to drag the matter further.
“Pawan Singh ji admitted his mistake and apologised. He is elder to me and also a senior artist. I have forgiven him. I do not want to take this matter forward any more. Jai Shree Ram,” she wrote.
