Amitabh Bachchan is back where millions love to see him, on the set of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ (KBC). The megastar has kicked off work on the upcoming season of the iconic quiz show, sharing glimpses from the shoot and his thoughts in a blog post.
“Shuru kardiya kaam,” he wrote, along with photos from rehearsals, “The prep begins… to be back to the people… to be with them in their desires to improve life and livings,” he wrote, calling the show “an opportunity that changes lives in an hour.”
‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’, India’s version of the international format ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?’, has become synonymous with Big B over the years. Apart from season 3, when Shah Rukh Khan hosted, Bachchan has been the face of the show since it first aired in 2000.
The format is simple: contestants answer a series of multiple-choice questions with the help of a few lifelines. But the impact goes beyond the prize money.
Even as he returned to the KBC stage, Amitabh Bachchan made time to appreciate another important part of his life, his son, Abhishek Bachchan. On July 6, he shared a heartfelt note on Instagram, posting a picture of Abhishek and writing: “My pride and my unlimited love… how beautifully on your own terms you are achieving your well-deserved praise and recognition.”

He ended the note with a line that touched fans: “Kaaldhar may be missing, but Abhishek is never missing from our hearts.”
Meanwhile, one of Amitabh’s most iconic films, ‘Sholay’, was back in the global spotlight. The uncut version of the 1975 cult classic had its world premiere at the prestigious ‘Il Cinema Ritrovato’ festival in Italy last month, marking its 50th anniversary in style.
Directed by Ramesh Sippy and penned by the legendary writing duo Salim-Javed, ‘Sholay’ remains a landmark in Indian cinema. Featuring a powerhouse cast, including Dharmendra, Hema Malini, Jaya Bachchan, Sanjeev Kumar, and Amjad Khan, the film told the story of two outlaws, Veeru and Jai, hired by a former cop to capture the ruthless Gabbar Singh.
