Akshay Kumar starrer Pad Man, which deals with the subject of women menstruation, has earned Rs 62.87-crore in its opening week.

Pad Man opened to positive word of mouth and fared well in the opening week. But if reports are to be believed, the film failed to create its magic despite the rigorous promotions and content of the film.

Taran Adarsh tweeted that the film’s first week business and as per his tweet the film collected Rs 3.78-crore on Thursday (February 15).

The film, which collected Rs 7.05-crore on Wednesday and started to show some growth after a mediocre Monday and Tuesday, yet again dropped marginally on February 15.

Considering the fact that this is a Akshay Kumar film, which was expected to cross Rs 100-crore in its opening week, Pad Man is his least impressive film at box office in recent years.

As per reports, the film’s business is also being affected by Padmaavat as Bhansali’s film is still going strong at the box office in its fourth week.

Nonetheless, the film has fared well in its opening week and has become the second highest grossing film of 2018 so far after Padmaavat.

Directed by R Balki, Pad Man, also featuring Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte, was released worldwide on February 9.
