The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has set a new record in the first phase of placements for the academic session 2025-26.
In just five days, the institute received over 1005 job offers. Notably, last year this figure was crossed on the 12th day.
This performance, despite the global recession and intense competition, underscores the strong confidence of the industry in the institute.
This year’s highest package was Rs 1.67 crore per annum, while the average package was recorded at Rs 29.23 lakh per annum. On the very first day, 17 students received packages exceeding Rs 1 crore. Companies in the Quant, Fintech, and Deep-Tech sectors showed particular interest in the students.
Commenting on this achievement, IIT (BHU) Director Prof. Amit Patra said here on Saturday, “This is a testament to the innovative capabilities, analytical thinking, determination, and leadership skills of our students. Our students are earning the trust of the world’s top companies through hard work and integrity. This success is a result of the dedication of our faculty, the excellent academic environment, and strong collaboration with the industry.”
This year, the major recruiting companies included Google, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Nvidia, JP Morgan, DE Shaw, Qualcomm, Amazon, Flipkart, Uber, Visa, Mastercard, Deutsche Bank, Graviton, Rubrik, Tata Steel, Reliance, Ola Electric, Zepto, Paytm, PhonePe, Adobe, Salesforce, Oracle, Databricks, Walmart, Intel, Cisco, LinkedIn, Accenture, HUL, Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech, ICICI Bank, BNY Mellon, NatWest, Capgemini, Extria, Cohesity, Nutanix, UiPath, and other domestic and international companies.
