Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva on Wednesday said whenever an Aam Aadmi Party leader faces financial probe or receives a notice from the police or a probe agency, the team Arvind Kejriwal immediately associates it with the upcoming elections in some state.
Sachdeva alleged that the people of Punjab have been troubled for nearly four years by what he described as a regime of loot under AAP chief Kejriwal. In the 2027 elections, they will certainly deliver a strong response, not to the BJP, but to the present regime for the alleged economic exploitation of the state.
He said as Kejriwal himself has worked in the Income Tax Department he should clarify whether agencies like the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) can conduct searches without prior investigation. Kejriwal is well aware that several of his party leaders being businessmen, such actions are not unusual, yet his team is politicizing matters.
Meanwhile, Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor said the ED carried out a search on the premises of a Punjab-based businessman, Ashok Mittal. But the way Kejriwal, Bhagwant Mann, Manish Sisodia, Saurabh Bharadwaj, and Atishi reacted to the development suggests that the financial records recovered during the search may have links with the party.
He further alleged that that not only in Punjab but also in places like Delhi, Gujarat, and Goa, wherever the AAP carries out its political campaigns, people have the impression that the funds for the same are coming from Punjab.
