Ahead of the upcoming elections of the Delhi University Teachers’ Association, the National Democratic Teachers Front (NDTF) announced its panel here on Tuesday. The elections are scheduled to be held on 4 September 2025, at Arts and Social Faculties, North Campus, Delhi University.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday, the NDTF announced its candidates, which include Dr VS Negi for President, and Dr Akanksha Khurana, Dr Amit Singh, Dr Devendra Kumar Rana, Manish Kumar, Dr Sakshi Yadav, and Dr Sanjay Kumar for the executive committee.
Stating that the elections are taking place at a crucial juncture, when the new pay commission and service conditions of the teachers are due to be announced, Prof AK Bhagi, President of NDTF, said that teachers have experienced the results and benefits of the tireless efforts made by the NDTF-led DUTA.
Revealing that the NDTF has already begun pursuing the issues with the Ministry of Education, the UGC, the Delhi government, and DU authorities, Dr Bhagi stated that these issues have been listed by the NDTF before the upcoming elections.
The issues include resolution of the issue of full funding and regularisation in 12 Delhi government colleges, full past service count, including ad hoc, temporary, and similar services for promotions, allocation of seats and grants for the 4th year of UGCF under NEP Implementation, review of UGCF structure and enhancement of credits for core papers, sanctioning of additional teaching positions against EWS expansion and four-year degree programme, immediate filling of all backlog and shortfall vacancies in reserved categories, and end of staggered semesters and review of admission policy, among other demands.
“The NDTF is also seeking that the semester break be treated as vacation for teachers, early completion of the regularisation Process in Shyam Lal College (Evening) and St. Stephens’ College, constitution of 8th Pay Review Commission, seniority of newly appointed college teachers, better medical facilities, research grants, infrastructure, housing, and HBA,” he said.
