Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Commissioner Sanjeev Khirwar on Friday conducted a comprehensive review of the Goyla Dairy Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) Plant in the Najafgarh Zone before inspecting major Solid Waste Management (SWM) facilities in the West Zone to assess project implementation, and infrastructure upgradation.
The Commissioner was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Najafgarh Zone, Shashvat Saurabh, Engineer-in-Chief P C Meena, and other senior officers of MCD to the Goyla Dairy CBG Plant being developed for processing cattle dung and municipal solid waste to generate bio-gas and organic fertilizer. The project is being executed under the Urban Development Fund (UDF) of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India.
After reviewing the progress of the project, the Commissioner directed the executing agency to expedite all pending civil, mechanical, and electrical works by deploying adequate manpower and resources. He said all issues hindering the progress of the project be resolved on priority to ensure timely completion.
Khirwar issued strict directions to complete the project for commissioning on or before September 17.
He also instructed the agency to ensure that no cattle dung is allowed to flow into nearby drains and that proper collection, transportation, and processing arrangements are maintained to safeguard the environment and public health.
Later, the Commissioner conducted an inspection of key Solid Waste Management facilities in the West Zone.
The inspection commenced at the Pankha Road Fixed Compactor Transfer Station (FCTS), which has been developed and refurbished by JS Enviro Solutions Pvt Ltd.
Khirwar reviewed the upgraded infrastructure, project branding, and operational preparedness.
The enhanced fleet deployed at the facility—including container carriers, hook loaders, RC vehicles for transportation of street sweeping waste, auto tippers, and e-rickshaws—was showcased, demonstrating improved waste collection and transportation capabilities.
The Commissioner also appreciated the landscaping and plantation undertaken to enhance the aesthetics of the site.
Subsequently, he inspected the BOT Fixed Compactor Transfer Station (FCTS), where similar upgraded infrastructure, project branding, and operational arrangements were reviewed.
The Commissioner also inspected the newly-established EV charging station developed to support the electric vehicle fleet deployed under the project. The site has likewise been beautified through landscaping and plantation.
He further visited the Construction and Demolition (C&D) Waste Collection Site at Rajouri Garden to inspect the installation of water sprinklers and other dust mitigation measures at the JE Store.
He reviewed the arrangements made for suppression of dust emissions and ensuring environmental compliance, and issued necessary directions for effective implementation, regular maintenance, and sustained monitoring of these measures.
