LG orders termination of 2 non-official members of DUSIB

Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena has ordered termination of two “non-official” members of the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB).

Saxena, in exercise of his powers vide section 4(2) of the DUSIB Act, 2010, has ordered their termination as they have been continuing as expert members, without having the requisite qualification of ‘experience and expertise’ in urban planning and slum matters, with immediate effect, the LG office said on Thursday.

“Bipin Kumar Rai has been performing the role of expert member for the last nine years and Amrendra Kumar was appointed as non-official member on 9th March, 2022. Both of them were drawing hefty remuneration in contravention of the law,” it said.

Saxena also ordered that a panel of fresh names for expert members who fulfil requisite qualifications may be submitted for his consideration in terms of the provisions of the DUSIB Act, 2010 read with Section 45D of the GNCTD (Amendment) Act, 2023 within a week.

He has also directed the Administrative Department to frame rules regarding service conditions of Board Members of DUSIB under Section 4(1) of the Act.

“Rai, who was a psychologist, was continuing since 3rd July,2015, with the final approval of the then LG vide notification dated 28th December,2016, Kumar was appointed vide notification dated 9th March,2022 with the approval of the then LG”, the LG office said.
