In a joint operation, Delhi and Panchkula police raided a house in Greater Kailash on Tuesday in search of the wanted adopted daughter of jailed self-proclaimed godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim, Honeypreet Insan. But, no one except the care taker was found from the house owned by Dera Sacha Sauda.
“The Panchkula Police had come with an arrest warrant for her. It was suspected that she was hiding in house number A9 in Greater Kailash Enclave. The house was raided, but she was not found. R.K Malhotra is the care taker of the house,” said Romil Baaniya, DCP, South East Delhi.
Honeypreet, who is wanted in cases relating to sedition and inciting violence, visited the office of her advocate Pradeep Kumar Arya on Mondayin order to sign a transit bail application, said the police. Following this information, Panchkula police issued an arrest warrant and raided the property.
Sources claimed that they are also looking out for her in neighbourhoods in south Delhi, particularly in Lajpat Nagar, based on the inputs from Panchkula police. They are also looking for Aditya Insaan and Pawan Insaan. All three are allegedly accused of motivating violence and conspiring to free Gurmeet Ram Rahim after he was convicted of rape by a Panchkula CBI court on August 25.
The police said that, if the three aren’t arrested by the end of October, then they will be declared proclaimed absconders.
The Haryana Police had named her as one of the 43 people wanted for the violence that took place in Haryana and other parts of the country following Ram Rahim’s conviction in August.
